Three Days in Nevada

Many people think of only Las Vegas when they think of the great state of Nevada, but there is so much more that this state has to offer! You could practically stay an entire month in the state of Nevada, but if you find yourself there for only three days, if you plan your trip wisely, you should be able to pack a week’s worth of fun into a few short days.

Here are a few things that you must absolutely do while you’re in Nevada for three days. You might not be able to do everything on this list, but if you can check off just a few of these things, you’re bound to have an eventful trip.

Explore Red Rock Canyon

Just outside of Las Vegas, you’ll find the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. Many people that live here call this their favorite hiking place and they are right! If you’re an outdoor lover and want a break from the big city lights of Vegas, you should spend a few hours here.

You’ll see red rock formations sitting tall above the Mojave Desert, and no matter what you enjoy doing, whether it’s hiking, mountain biking, off-roading, or just snapping some pictures, you’ll have a great time here.

See the Hoover Dam

The Hoover Dam is a national monument to American ingenuity and perseverance. Originally built during the Great Depression, the Hoover Dam is 726-feet tall and contains Lake Mead, providing power to most of Nevada, Arizona, and California. Although it might not be as flashy and exciting as the lights on the Vegas Strip, walking out on the top of the dam will produce spectacular views and the perfect photo opportunity.

Relax at Lake Tahoe

Lake Tahoe, the 22-mile-long freshwater lake sitting on the Nevada-California border is the most breath-taking natural site in the entire state. The waters are sparkling, and snowcapped mountains surround the lake. At Lake Tahoe, depending on the season, you can soak up some sun on the beach, go on a hike, have a picnic, or anything else your heart desires. If you’re looking for something else to do in Nevada besides gamble and go to expensive shows, this is the place.

Spend (at least) a Day in Las Vegas

With these other destinations in mind, this list would be incomplete without mentioning Las Vegas, one of the most famous cities in the world. You’ll be hard-pressed to find as much entertainment in such a small space anywhere else in the world. In Las Vegas, you can eat at some of the best restaurants in the country, see live music, theater, and other stage shows, and try your luck at hitting the jackpot in a casino.

Visiting Las Vegas is something that everyone should do at least once in their life, and if you find yourself In Nevada for a few days, you’ll regret not spending at least a day or two in Vegas.
